AWGD8
Just got a new 60C and updated all the software- mapsource 6.5 (city select 6) and flash the unit with Ver. 4.00 (as of June 20, 2005) I noticed that if I try to rename a waypoint that i stored or name a new waypoint these 4 keys or characters & ` , . don`t seem to work. You won`t be able to type in these characters. I wonder if anybody who has 60C unit has the same problem? Quote Link to comment

Neo_Geo
I may be wrong, but I don't think it ever worked. I think those characters only work for writing comments. Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
See citations from Section 7.2 of the Garmin protocol spec (001-00063-00 Rev. B ) at http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...=0entry917246 In short, different characters are legal in different places. Ampersand, dot, and friends are not legal in a waypoint name. (Of course, their own spec says they aren't legal in other places, either, but the newer units stretcht he rules as convenient.) Quote Link to comment
