+jblane
i'm sure this is explained by a thousand different folks in a thousand different places, but... I'M UNABLE TO SWITCH MY SETTINGS FROM "COM1" WITH A BAUD RATE OF "9600." THE BUTTONS ARE FADED OUT. AS A RESULT I GET A MESSAGE THAT ESSENTIAL SAYS "YOU NEED TO TURN YOUR GPS OFF RIGHT AWAY-- YOU'RE AN IDIOT." ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I DID GET THE COORDINATES SWITCHED TO THE CORRECT DEGREES FORMAT BUT THIS HURDLE HAS GOT ME STUMPED... Quote Link to comment
+the hermit crabs
EasyGPS does not have a setting for the Legend C, so you probably just picked "Legend" instead. But if you do that, then EasyGPS won't know how to talk to it, since the regular Legend connects to the PC via a serial port, rather than USB. What you have to do is lie to EasyGPS, and tell it that your unit is a MAP60C, not a Legend. Then it will let you use the USB connection. Quote Link to comment

+the hermit crabs
THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP. now, how do i go about downloading the clues/hints/logs to my PDA? You're welcome! As for the PDA, you can go the free-software route: See these easy step-by-step instructions for paperless caching from Geocacher University. There are other options that are more widely used (GSAK and CacheMate), but they are not free. There are lots of threads in this forum about those tools. Quote Link to comment
