+Simply Paul
From the OS website: The remotest part of GB The remotest point was calculated to be the hillside of Ruadh Stac Beag, between Letterewe Forest and Fisherfield Forest. The grid reference is NH 02550 77010 Distance to nearest road = 11km or 7 miles. The nearest road is the A832. For this purpose, the remotest part of mainland Great Britain is considered to be the point farthest from a metalled road. Source: This value has been calculated using OSCAR Traffic-Manager data on 06/09/01. I make this N57° 44.650 W005° 19.116, which is a little over 5 miles from any cache. Anyone up to the setting challenge? SP Quote Link to comment
+Pharisee
I doubt our dear reviewers would consider letting me place a cache that far north... bit of a bummer, really. Quote Link to comment

+lathama
My transect line cache is 9.5 miles from the nearest TARMAC road, 6 miles from remotest train station [] Quote Link to comment
+Simply Paul
Okay then - Since I'm off to Scotland next week, can anyone beat this cache for remoteness? 36.7 miles to the next cache as the oily Atlantic Shag flies. SP Quote Link to comment

SP Paul - there's 5 FTFs waiting to be claimed on the first page of caches "near" there! Should be a cinch for a man of your calibre... Quote Link to comment
Nediam
I did think about it myself, along with furthest from the sea (already taken!) and furthest N, S, E, & W. after seeing the page on the O.S. Website. Unfortunately the huge hike into the wilderness is probably a bit much and maintaining it from Birmingham is a bit of a trek! Quote Link to comment
