Cache Placement Request

Recommended Posts

From the OS website:

The remotest part of GB

The remotest point was calculated to be the hillside of Ruadh Stac Beag, between Letterewe Forest and Fisherfield Forest.

The grid reference is NH 02550 77010

Distance to nearest road = 11km or 7 miles.

The nearest road is the A832.

For this purpose, the remotest part of mainland Great Britain is considered to be the point farthest from a metalled road.

Source: This value has been calculated using OSCAR Traffic-Manager data on 06/09/01.

I make this N57° 44.650 W005° 19.116, which is a little over 5 miles from any cache.

Anyone up to the setting challenge? :)

I did think about it myself, along with furthest from the sea (already taken!) and furthest N, S, E, & W. after seeing the page on the O.S. Website. Unfortunately the huge hike into the wilderness is probably a bit much and maintaining it from Birmingham is a bit of a trek! :):D:D
