Okie34
Hi folks! Just another Newbie here. I've got a Garmin GPS 75 and an older Garmin GPS 12. I'd like to know if there is a good antenna that won't cost me $100 bucks that will mount on my truck and allow me to use GPS on the road. I've heard Mighty Mouse (?) bandied about, but no definitive answers. BTW: I found my very first geocache last summer. How neat! I've been watching this grow over the last couple of years and it's really become quite a past time! I'm also an amateur photographer as well as getting in some storm chasing too. So'm familiar with how GPS works. Just not to familiar with it's use on the road. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+Jacksons
I use a dash mount in both my car and pick-up I have a etrex and e-map and both work great on dash without an external antenna.imho you do not need a external ant for use on the highway I'm a man and I can change if I have to,I guess. +brdad
If you have just a slight bit of elcetronic knowledge, you can make your own reradiating antenna like Lapaglia and I have done. Lapaglias page is here, and my page is here. Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
