+Criminal
Saw on the news this morning that a small group of hikers climbed to the rim of St Helens in the night. They even shot some video. I haven't yet found anything on the online news sites yet. They did mention, if you want to go Above the Clouds, the fine is only $1000. Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
Haven't heard anything about Mt. St. Helens since the eruptions a few months ago. Any idea when the area will reopen for caching? Quote Link to comment
+EraSeek
Johnston ridge is open again and some of the trails. I Believe I read climbing will not open this season. Did they actually mention Above the Clouds? Edited May 15, 2005 by EraSeek Quote Link to comment

Here is what the page says: Mount St. Helens is currently closed to climbing due to volcanic activity. Volcanic conditions and hazards are reviewed and evaluated regularly. Any changes in access to Mount St. Helens, including climbing, will be posted on this webpage. Quote Link to comment

+top pin
Well I hope they open it soon, I have a pass for a group of 6th for July 3rd. Getting close. PS. I heard rumor of somoene that climbed it less then 2 months ago, they werent caught but were also willing to spend the fine as long as they made it to the top is what they said. I'm sure its climbed a little more often then most know. I'll still stick with my $.37 permit for now though. Quote Link to comment
