Col_Freeman
My accuracy has been a little off lately and I was wondering if anyone has an external antenna for a Garmin GPSmap 76s. Thanks, Colonel Freeman Quote Link to comment

+Cardinal Red
They are always available on ebay. Checked your profile. You found 4 caches today with another cacher. The other cacher has a few more finds than you, so you both have your own GPSr? I have the same unit, and it works great. What are your accuracy issues? An external antenna will give you a stronger signal which can help accuracy if you had been getting weak reception. But I don't think you need an external antenna to find caches. And I own 2 external antennas, bought through ebay. Do you hold it pointing straight up to aquire satellites (not lying flat like the compass wants to be held). Quote Link to comment
Curious George
I have a 76S and have never need the external antenna to find a cache. I do have an external antenna and use it when I want to record a really accurate position. I am very happy with the price and the service I got at GPSGEEK.com Quote Link to comment
+Got Vectors ?
i have a gpsmap 76cs, that REALLY needs an external antenna. the reception absolutly sucks.. when i get into the bush i have no usable signal at all and have to switch over to using my 10 year old eagle accunav unit, which just about recieves through concrete.. had a legend, loved it, also had great reception. It was smashed in a tumble down a mountain in the dark. Quote Link to comment

hiker102
I have a 76c and i got a Gilsson external antenna from gpsgeek.com, which works great. reception was spotty in dense tree coverage, but okay otherwise. i think you can find them for cheaper on eBay though. the main gilsson site is pretty useful too (http://www.gilsson.com).
