Admit it. The best part about competing is when you cheat and still win. Well we invented the ideal travel bug race for all of you dishonest people out there.

The object is to get your travel bug from a cache of our choosing in Washington State to any cache in Florida without getting disqualified. The starting cache(s) will not be announced so as to to make at least the first day of the race fair. (i.e. you go to the first cache, collect every TB other than your own and place them on the top of a mountain)

Here are the rules. They're short and sweet and you cannot break them.

1. Bugs can only move one state at a time, states must share a common geographic border. If a bug skips a state, intentional or not, it is disqualified. They must be placed in physical caches and logs must be written in. They must travel by conventional cache & travel bug means, (i.e. no US Mail, no having others just type in your code into a log, etc.).

2. Anyone can touch any Travel Bug.

3. If a bug is taken out of a cache and is not placed into another cache within 14 days (whatever the reason), it is disqualified. If a TB is taken out of a cache it must be logged. (So if you take someone's TB and sit on it for three weeks, everyone will know who did it).

4. Everything else is fair game. The officiates have final say in a dispute. If you are disqualified, you are disqualified.

We encourage you to disqualify others travel bugs any way you can. Owners can request help from other cachers along the way in order to move their bugs faster or slow down others. If you are disqualified, you can still disqualify others. Revenge is fun! Once a bug has been disqualified, please place it back in circulation as a normal travel bug.

Any style of Travel Bug is allowed however evil themes are recommended (a can of deviled ham, a Martha Stewart doll, etc.) You can attach anything to it (identifying tags, dollar bill bribes for other cachers, etc.) It does not have to be a new unused Travel Bug but you do have to be the owner.

The first bug to make it to Florida or be the last bug standing, wins! Once someone wins, the contest is over and we will start preparing for the next race. Numerous prizes will be awarded including "Most original travel bug" "The first bug disqualified" & "Most original cheating technique".

You can enter as many bugs as you wish. Entry fees are: $5 a piece and every third bug entered is free. (bug 1 - $5, bug 2 - $5, bug 3 - free, bug 4 - $5, bug 5 - $5, bug 6 free, etc.) The more bugs you enter, the better odds you have of any of them finishing.

The race begins approximately May 1st and travel bugs need to be received at the starting gate by April 25th. No late entrants will be allowed.
