carpet123 Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Hi all, Can anyone here tell me what the caches are like in Afghanistan. I've seen there are a couple but are they safe to reach etc. My dad works out there and if they were not too far off the beaten track, I might try giving him one of my Travel Bugs (he is not into Geocaching though). He lives in Kabul, and will be going to Bagram Air base a couple of times, if that helps you. Am I right in thinking that they were created by Americans while out there during the war against the Taliban Carpet123 Quote
Mighty Tiggers Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 It hasn't happened yet, but some of the caches in the area may contain improvised explosive devices. Unless you find one placed by someone you know WITHIN the safe borders of a fire-base, I wouldn't touch it. Quote
carpet123 Posted February 10, 2005 Author Posted February 10, 2005 That sounds nasty. I had never thought of that. Quote
