holograph
This is a reply to the discussion that started in the Benchmark "finds" Question thread, but there was beginning to be some topic drift. A possibility is to include just the small thumbnail, then people can decide if they want to look at the large picture. The thumbnail loads 10 times faster than the large image and shouldn't be as much of a problem for people with dialup connections. In Internet Explorer, the URL for the thumbnail can be obtained by going to your log and examining the properties of the thumbnail by right clicking on it and selecting "properties" from the menu. The URL can be copied from the properties page by highlighting it with the mouse and typing CTRL-C. Another way to get the URL is to look at the full size picture. Its URL will be shown in the browser's address line. Then just replace the "/lg/" with "/sm/". For instance, the URL for the full-size version of the image above is .../lg/2debbb0e-9bde-4349-9ccb-06cab97857f1.jpg The URL for the thumbnail is .../sm/2debbb0e-9bde-4349-9ccb-06cab97857f1.jpg For the adventuresome, it's even possible to make the thumbnail clickable like the one above by wrapping it with http:// tags that point to the large image. Is it a lot of trouble? Not much more than posting an image or link is. Quote Link to comment
