How To Get Picture Posted With Messages

My image and avatar are in my profile but when I look at account details it says...

 

My Avatar and Profile Image are not selected.

 

I know I did this and double checked it about a month ago.

 

When I click on Choose Avatar Image or Choose Profile Image, it takes me to a page that shows me the images I chose a month ago. I have even Re-registered these changes but to no effect.

 

What could I be doing wrong. Has anyone else had this problem?

Often the solution to problems like these is to log right out of the forums and gc.com, then log back in and then click on the "Discuss geocaching" link to get back to the forums.

Well I've tried it but no luck so far. Is there someone at Geocaching.com to whom this should be reported? I can't figure out for the life of me that I am missing any steps.

I can't figure out for the life of me that I am missing any steps.

I had problems changing my avatar the other day. There is a non-obvious step that I kept missing.

 

1. Go to your My Account Details page.

2. Click edit profile.

3. Below "Your Avatar", click "Choose Avatar Image" or if you already have an avatar selected, click "change/edit".

4. Click on the image you want to use. The page will refresh and show your newly selected image in the upper-right.

5. Click the "Select Avatar" button above the image. This is the step I kept missing.

6. Click on "Discuss Geocaching" on the navigation bar on the left. This will transfer your new avatar setting to the forums.
