+NJ Admin
it is too deal with the geodetic disc that is there. so if u go there soon plz let me know.... by post ing here and emailing me Thanks for being such an honest eagle scout. I was a boy scout myself; glad to see they are still turning out honest young men. Since your post is about benchmarks, it's really in the wrong forum. Would you like it moved to the benchmarking forum? Since we are discussing Stokes, now might be a good time to ask someone to do me a favor as well. It seems someone placed a cache there quite some time ago and it was never listed on this site. There were several issues with the cache at the time. One was it appears to be placed almost directly on the appalachian trail. While the AT rangers in NJ don't seem to really mind caches, the fact is they have asked us not to list caches on NPS lands. The other problem was one of maintaining the cache. The hider was not from the area, and apparently has no means or intention of ever returning to move or remove it. Perhaps while someone is checking out MREAGLEWO1's benchmarks, they could also trash out an abandoned geocache located at N41° 13.085 W074° 43.262 There are 2 benchmarks very close by, so perhaps someone can help both of us at the same time. Thanks! Quote Link to comment

+RickIII
Wow.... this got confusing. That cache is why I went up there today. I have it sitting right next to me in Woodbridge, so there is no need to worry about it being on the trail. Quote Link to comment

Abandoned caches in banned areas like that give geocachers a bad name. From the looks of MREAGLEWO1's last post, you also got to "deal with the geodetic disc that is there" that was his reason for starting this thread. Great job, you got to help one irresponsible cacher from possibly getting a fine, and helped another cacher with some benchmark info, all in one trip! Quote Link to comment
