ArtMan
Saturday, Sept. 18, is National Public Lands Day, described as "the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands American’s enjoy. Last year nearly 80,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, planted trees and plants, and removed trash and invasive plants." (Source: NPLD website) Volunteer opportunities are available nationwide (and you might stumble on the odd benchmark as you're clearing a trail or planting flowers). ~ArtMan Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
When you volunteer you help the Nation. Why not get credit for your hours and a Presidential Service award along with the benchmark, the new trail or just teaching a child the proper way to respect nature. I have recieved the bronze, silver and gold and am working on my lifetime service award now. I am one of the one's who have tried to help this along for quite a while and am glad to see others picking up on it. Thanks ARTMAN. USA FREEDOM CORPS Quote Link to comment
