Insp Gadget
I noticed the other day that GSAK asked to convert my new GPX file for some reason or other. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, but now when I access the GPX files in GPX Sonar (2002) my icons for Difficulty and Terrain don't show up. Anyone else notice this or know if changes were made to the GPX files? Thanks... Quote Link to comment

Hemlock
Or the GPX files got their guts torn out of them by EasyGPS. Quote Link to comment
Insp Gadget
Well it's the same GPX file I have been receiving since January of this year. I have changed nothing since that time. Quote Link to comment
Maeglin
Just checked out my last pocket query from Friday. The format was the same then as it always has been, and everything was there. If the GPX file you're using is from then or before then, my vote is for the info being stripped out by something (EasyGPS maybe). Quote Link to comment
Insp Gadget
Well when I look at the GPS file (Which I receive every day) in GPX Sonar on my PPC, the icons don't show up. Since I am not using EasyGPS for this purpose, I don't think this is the problem. Rather a bit of a puzzle.... Quote Link to comment
as77
Look at the old and new files in a text editor (Word would be OK, too). Quote Link to comment
Insp Gadget
I opened the GPX file in Word. Man this is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not quite sure what I'm looking for though. Can you give me an idea? Quote Link to comment
as77
Yes, look at the <Groundspeak:type> tags under the sections <Groundspeak:cache>. That is where the type info is given and GPXSonar uses this to select the icons to be displayed. BTW you can also rename the GPX file to something.xml and then open it in Internet Explorer.
