scottyg
I would like to include photos of my caches and travel bugs but all my images are over 100 K how can I shrink them so I can upload them? Quote Link to comment
+BrownMule & Jackrabbit
Download a free copy of a wonderful and fully functioning "Irfanview" software. It will let you make your image any size you want plus lots more. Go Here To get your copy of the software. _________________________________________________________ On the other hand, you have different fingers. Quote Link to comment
+Jamie Z
I use IrfanView, too... but I also use Easy Thumbnails. What I like about Easy Thumbnails is that you can view the before and after images simultaneously, including their disk size. It also allows you to alter the jpg compression in 1% increments--all the while you can see the imageas it looks compressed. With Easy Thumbnails, I can create an image that is almost exactly 100k every time if I want. What I like about IrfanView is the ability to crop and do some other image-altering things, and it has a pretty good screen capture utility, too. Jamie Quote Link to comment

+Shoebox
I came across ULEAD Photo Explorer, which has a freeware of its 6.0 version. I was looking mostly for a quick way to flip my photo upright but it also includes a function that allows you to crop the photo down to a more manageable size. Take a look at: http://www.ulead.com/pex/freeware.htm Quote Link to comment
Dru Morgan
Look at the top message in this forum, the one that is locked to the top labeled "Read this first" and then see the very first reply to that message. Ever notice that anyone that caches less than you do is a moron, while anyone that caches more than you do is a maniac? -Dru Morgan Quote Link to comment
Dale_Lynn
Edited to zilch because forum does not allow deletes. Quote Link to comment
hostetter
The best thing about irfanview is that you can batch process images. Useful if you took a bunch of pictures with your digital camera and you want them all converted in the same way, do it all in one operation rather than image by image. The only image modification task I do that doesn't use irfanview is I like the 'autobalance' feature of MS Photo Editor. Quote Link to comment
