I was thinking of placing my first cache in my neighborhood. We have a pipeline running through it and it is a good place to hike and bike...though not many people do. The land behind the neighborhood belongs to farmers, but the right of way belongs to the pipeline company. any thoughts? Quote Link to comment
Guest geoark1 Posted August 7, 2001 Share Posted August 7, 2001 As A RULE the pipeline company does not OWN the ground that the pipe line is on they only have a easement to perform duties related to the line only, therefore you would need to get permission from the land owner. We have several large transmission lies around us both gas and electricity, some land owners will allow dirt bikes as long as they do not start erosion. Good Idea though as should be explored.
