chris_oreo
How do you project a waipoint? Edited June 29, 2004 by chris_oreo Quote Link to comment
cooney
Just try reading your owners manual. I have had to do repeat readings on waypoint projectioins because I have not encountered too many caches that require it. Quote Link to comment
+worldtraveler
Here's a quick 'n dirty for the Garmin V. I'm not sure how similar it will be for other Garmins or Magellans. You're probably going to be projecting from an existing waypoint, but if not, you'll first need to create a waypoint at the spot you want to project from. Bring up the waypoint information page by either scrolling your cursor over it on the map page and pressing "enter" or selecting it from the waypoint list and pressing "enter". With the waypoint information displayed, press "menu" and select "Project Waypoint" from the list. Enter the bearing, distance, and units (mi/ft, nm/ft, or km/m, depending on your setup), and "Create Waypoint". If your unit doesn't have "Project Waypoint" capability but does have a "Measure Distance" feature, you can still accomplish the same thing. Select the point you want to measure from. Scroll the cursor the distance and bearing you want to project your waypoint. Note the coords at that spot and create a waypoint there. Quote Link to comment
