+KYHilltopper
I bought a Backpacker Magazine for the ads and ideas about hydration packs, and there is an article on where to hike. In the article they give coordinates such as: 11S 0248521E 4334504N I set my GPS to UTM and a couple of others but never got anything resembleing what is in the mag. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks KyHilltopper Clint Never mind. I went through the reset on the GPS and got the same format for UTM/UPS .. Thanks anyway Edited June 14, 2004 by KYHilltopper Quote Link to comment
+timberlane74 & pumpkin
In the Backpacker magazine (2 months ago??) where they introduced GPS enabled hikes etc....they had a nice blurb on their choosing to use UTM coordinates and did a great job of explaining UTM...pased on the copy to a buddy, but if you can get your hands on it...should explain everything they are doing and how for you... Here is the articleUTM Edited June 15, 2004 by timberlane74 & pumpkin Quote Link to comment
+writer
If it helps, I went to Maptran, I translated the UTM coordinates to 39.123429° N 119.908995° W in lat/lon. Is it that the location doesn't seem to be the one they picture? Quote Link to comment
