+The SuzyQs
I got my pocket query today as expected, but today it contained a virus and my computer will not let me look at it. It will not tell me what the virus name is, just that it is infected. Anyone else had this trouble today? Link to comment
+Hemlock
This has been discussed before, ad nauseum. Ask for your PQ's in zipped format and all should be well. It's a false-positive caused by an over-zealous virus checker. It's likely that the html in the description of some cache is triggering it. Pocket Queries are XML files, which is just formatted text, and therefore cannot contain a virus. I suppose they could contain virus code in text format, but it would never be executed. +The Leprechauns
There could very well be a new cache in your PQ that wasn't there before, and it has some code in it that is tripping your anti-virus software. That could explain why you never encountered the issue until today. Zip it up! Link to comment
+Markwell
Be aware that some workplace companies are also limiting the reception of zip files via e-mail. We have to change them from .zip to another extension before sending or receiving, and have the other person reverse the process. Link to comment
