+Red Clover
Was just thinking.. using the weighted method someone posted about in the "shrinkys gone wrong" thread could you put two identically sized colored SD's one on top of the other and get a thicker more durable item? Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
A regular shrinky dink gets about as thick as a quarter or gold dollar. Do you really need something thicker than that? You could probably glue two of them together, but they don't all shrink to a uniform size (so no making quarters for the vending machines, besides they wouldn't weigh enough to activate the sensor...I've heard. I haven't tried this myself. No, really...I'm innocent! Innocent!) Quote Link to comment
+Red Clover
Well I have a I (heart) mom keychain my 7 yr old made for me but the weakness around the hole did it in. So I was just wondering if it would be possible to make em thicker.. and ours havent turned out as thick as a quarter.. wonder why? oh well.. Quote Link to comment
+Team GPSaxophone
If they don't come out that thick, you need to leave them in longer. They will get to a point where they won't shrink anymore. That's when you take them out. Quote Link to comment

And how would you happen to KNOW that it would not do that? Hmmmm? Quote Link to comment

+sbell111
Well I have a I (heart) mom keychain my 7 yr old made for me but the weakness around the hole did it in. ... I guess that you could add a small eyelet or grommet after baking. This may strengthen the area around the hole enough. Quote Link to comment
+fly46
Here's another plan.. First of all, make sure it's big enough. The smaller the finished project the less leeway you have if it cracks or something... Also, how about punching the hole farther in the item? You could also get some sort of sealant or clear nail polish and coat the final - after baking - product.. It'd help seal in little cracks that might be there. Quote Link to comment
