Nats-fj40
While cleaning out closets I found my old gps. I remember I replaced it before the Y2K thing. I tried to set it up again and it wouldn't lock on to any sats. I'm assuming this thing wasn't Y2K compliant and is now a paperweight. Am I correct? Quote Link to comment
Dale_Lynn
I doubt Y2K is a factor... Dale Quote Link to comment
Nats-fj40
Thanks DL. Maybe I'll give it more time to try and re-initialize. It worked fine when I retired it. Quote Link to comment
+Keith Watson
I too have a GPS 2000. Got it out in the spring and it locked once during a week of trying. Then I got the Sportrak Map. I think the alminac is toast or something. Quote Link to comment
+RobRee
on the maggie 2000 did you input the closest city and coords from the chart? it will lock on to sattelites. otherwise from a cold start you are in for a battery burning session. robbie Quote Link to comment
Nats-fj40
I even tried imputting the coords off my other gps after updating the date and time. After an hour it still hadn't locked. Quote Link to comment
