Guest PharoaH Posted August 1, 2001 Posted August 1, 2001 I just have to say that I have seen a lot more of the "don't ask, don't tell" sentiment on different message board threads. Geocaching is just now catching the spotlight, as mainstream media are beginning to run stories on what we do. Combine the current growth rate, the media attention, and a careless attitude and we're liable to run ourselves right out of a great thing. What do you think? Are we just going through normal growing pains? Or are we driving ourselves to extinction? Quote
Guest White Rabbit Posted August 1, 2001 Posted August 1, 2001 To be honest, I just found out about Geocaching on Friday from a newspaper. The article wasn't front page news or anything, but it looked interesting. I believe it was in the outdoor living section of the paper. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have found any of this and I'm very, very glad I did. I hope that people don't ruin this for everyone, but that's a posibility. The thing is that I don't believe 'bad' people are going to want to take the time and money to do this. I think what may come out of all the coverage is more cooperation from the NPS, cities and other cache hiding place authorities. Quote
