Proposal: Off-Topic Forum

Recommended Posts

Hey, there are a lot of neat people here at the Groundspeak forums, and this is a great place to discuss (if not the only?) geocaching. However, has anyone ever thought about the addition of an off-topic board here on the Groundspeak forums?

I frequent the OTF at planet Deus Ex, discovering it almost by accident, and I found it to be incredibly interesting and fun. Perhalps a place for "shooting the breeze" on the Groundspeak forums would be a good idea?

in the old forums you would be correct, but when they change to the "new" forums that feature didnt carry over, im not sure why....

guess too many ppl were dumping threads not going the way they wanted (ie. they didnt like being told they were wrong etc etc)

He should be able to close the topic at anytime.

It looks like only Jeremy can close a topic here.

By the way, an OTF here is not likely given that the forums aleady use a LOT of bandwidth just with geocaching. But if you want to spring for another server...

A lot of bandwidth? Really? Huh... I thought that message boards, when you discount the image files that are transmitted, would really not take up a ton of bandwidth... of course, to me a lot of bandwidth is downloading Mandrake Linux (almost 2 gigabytes of data.) icon_confused.gif
