Guest c_oflynn
Hi, I just posted a cache I planted. I wanted to add a log, but I set it to "Found it!" instead of "Other". I deleated the log, and replaced it with an "other" log. Now it says I have one found on my page. However, I haven't found any yet, and feel like I am cheating! Is there a way to remove this? Thanks!!!! Colin Quote Link to comment
Guest cache_ninja
hmm interesting, i didnt know it did that. i would think it wouldve removed it after you changed it to "other", you hit refresh in your browser and stuff? if you are really worried about it, e-mail jeremy and he can fix it, noone takes the "found" # too seriously, lots of us have been around awhile found caches and not always logged them on the url... c/n Quote Link to comment
Guest Cache-potato
someone to post a log to one I have hidden. That IMO is the reward. The seekers feedback. Even if someone was just watching one of my cache's it would give me some small glimmer of hope of activity. However, it has yet to happen. 'All things come to he who waits' Quote Link to comment
Guest Mike_Teague
If you think the online logs are the reward, then I suggest you visit your own caches after a few months, and you'll see the real reward, in the actual logbook... One can't (or shouldn't expect) to be able to go put a cache out there and just sit back at home and watch the online log entries roll in... You're missing the big picture that way, only getting a fraction of the actual visits... I'd estimate that only about half of the actual cache-finders post something on the website logs in my experience... Guest ALacy
Also while I do put a log entry both in the log book and on geocaching.com, they don't say the same thing. From the time I found the cache until I log on geocaching.com, I have had time to think about it and so on. Also the cache I placed The Brushy Mountain Cache is near a "relic" which I asked the finders not to name at geocaching.com. So I have to check the log book ever so often to get their true reaction.
