These addins do all kinds of geometric functions such as distance and bearing calculations and are very easily used in Excel.... go to Excel Add-ins "The hardest thing to find is something that's not there!" +blindleader Posted September 22, 2003 Share Posted September 22, 2003 Use caution using the Spherical Functions for solving some of the caches that require coordinate geometry. The Earth is not a sphere, and that fact can add several needless meters of error to your calculations. For example: Using the Bearing and Posdist functions on the following two points N47-39 W122-21 and N47-40.8 W122-18 only three miles apart, gives answers that differ by almost 14 meters from the WGS84 model used by this Great Circle Calculator [This message was edited by blindleader on September 23, 2003 at 11:56 AM.] Quote Link to comment
