Thing is Streets USA does a great job of putting the GPS cord. of the mouse cursor lower right corner. This is great except it is in NAD27. I know there are places to go and type in the NAD27 and get WGS, but who knows the formula so we can put it into Excel and have a live translation? Wouldn't this be handy? Ok, someone cough up the formulas. .. wink ..

There's no formula.

NAD27 is based on a bunch of usually unrelated surveys. Errors within the system are not consistent.

WGS84 is a global system. You can't simply convert between the two because NAD27 has almost random errors in it, depending on location.

I'm no expert, but I'm sure there is a more technical explanation.

Distortion models are really the only (practical/accurate) way for this type of conversion as per Alan's NADCOM link.

How about a formula to convert differences in Lat/Long to feet or meters or miles?

I figure latitude would be pretty constant, but the longitude would vary widely, depending upon your latitude.

Anyone know this?
