zilla
I have a Meridian Gold and last fall purchased a vehicle mount bracket for it.. The one with three suction cups.. I have used it before, but today I tried to connect my cable so I could run the GPS on the cig lighter cord.. I can't figure out how to get the cable connected using the bracket. Is there a special trick to this?? I have connected the cable before, but not using the bracket.. Is there a different cable that I need to use ? Quote Link to comment
+Cachetrotters
nothing. See, aren't I generous? The hole has a sliding gate. You will see the pin to lift it. Slide it up and put your plug in, and let the gate come down. It will engage some grooves to keep it in place. don PS-- If you aren't already, position the mount and cradle so that it hangs straight down from the windshield, with the suction cups at about rear-view mirror height. Orders of magnitude more stable and vibration-free. [This message was edited by Cachetrotters on January 24, 2003 at 06:26 PM.] Quote Link to comment
zilla
I found the sliding gate, but my cable connector has no groove in it.. I looked at this earlier, but am thinking I have an older version of the cable, a I bought it before the Meridian was made and was using it on a 320.. .... Does your cable have the groove? Mine doesn't .. And to even get it in the hole I had to trim the little wings on the sides, because it wouldn't fit at all.. Quote Link to comment
+Cachetrotters
Don't know about the older models, but the SportTrack Pro and Meridian share the same cables. You should have received a data cable with your unit. Does it fit properly into the mount? Does it look like the older power cable you have? don Quote Link to comment
+Jamie Z
The cable for the 3xx series Magellans will not fit the vehicle mount properly. If you want to use that feature, your best option is to purchase a new 12v cable. Jamie Quote Link to comment
