Having trouble uploading to Garmin V with easygps

I have used easygps to upload to my yellow etrex with no problems. I just got a Garmin V, and changed the preferences to Garmin (other), V was not listed, but keep getting an error message when trying to upload to the gps. Any suggestions from other Garmin V users. I even reloaded the easygps program.

Try downloading the latest version. A new one was released last April that was supposed to add support for a whole bunch of new GPSRs.

I did download the latest version, but no option for Garmin V.

I have been using EasyGPS since buying the GPSV in June. There was a Garmin online

upgrade which caused a problem until I went to EasyGPS and added their "fix."

If these don't work, I must say the first download after installing EasyGPS was the hardest! The instructions are you have to use it before it will work on the cable download. I still don't know how I got past that step because I didn't ever find a "help" file to tell me how

 

I don't remember what I chose as my GPS; the closest one (?) to a GPSV works for me.
