+Tahoe Skier5000
My III+ on the test screen says it has a XO drift of -20.31. Is that a bad value? I understand that it has something to do with the crystal oscillators or whatever. ----------------------------------------------------------- Garmin V Garmin III+ Quote Link to comment
+GOT GPS?
XO Drift from the test screens: Old GPS III from apr 1999: -19.12 Old GPS V from Nov 2001: -1.12 New GPS V from Feb: ---.-- XO Drift Becomes a bigger Value with age, and it looks like it's aways a negitive value. Garmin has said also that Master resets can damage the circuit board in the gps units over time also. My sister has used my original Garmin(GPS III), and she started complaining about the GOTO's bouncing all over the place as she aproched the caches, so I took it back and lent her my Vista(from July 2001). The Vista appears to be okay, or else I would have heard from her. The Old GPS V has received a ton of use and abuse, so it's starting to show it's age. Quote Link to comment

+Tahoe Skier5000
does it just keep drifting off into infiniti or will it eventually stop? I haven't noticed a drop in performance, or accuracy. In fact today, I got down to 12 feet with the III+! ----------------------------------------------------------- Garmin V Garmin III+ Quote Link to comment
