+nincehelser
In other words, if the other Rhino user isn't talking, will his unit still periodically transmit coordinates? Or do you only get coordinate updates when the speak? Thanks George Quote Link to comment
uwp
position is sent only when: a. mike is keyed b. call button is pressed also, the unit only is allowed to send the position once every ten seconds all of this is apparenty due to an agreement with the FCC Quote Link to comment
+nincehelser
Dang...that's unfortunate. It could have been a great tool for locating someone in an emergency. George Quote Link to comment
+EtrexRose
I just recently got in a car crash and was following my friend who was a mile ahead of me and it on a snowy road at night. We each had a rino and simply pressed the call key everyonce in awhile to show were okay and keeping up. When a 36 yr old lady that wad drunk came into my lane and hit my left front, they realized something was wrong and I sent my last location from the crash site and they came back to this point and there I was. Luckily every one was okay, but my 88 sub was not . If it wasnt for the position sending, they might not have turned back. I do what I gotta do, when I GOTTA do it. Quote Link to comment
mnelson78
The Rino also sends its position when the external mic is activated... (big hint to all you electronic hobbyists) -Matt Quote Link to comment
fig
Sounds like these would make for a really cool game of hide and seek in the woods at night. Especially since they don't automatically send. This has me seriously considering a pair or so. So does anyone have more than two, or do they seem too costly for this type of shenanigans? Fig Quote Link to comment
