Times in different time zones

Last night I was on an airplane (SWA) playing with my Meridian, showing it to a kid and his dad sitting next to me. I was in the Central time zone (near St. Louis) and the time was incorrect! It showed exactly one hour too early for the location I was in. I thought about the new firmware version, which I loaded, that has DST, but when I went over into the Mountain time zone (my "home" zone), the time did not change.

This was the first time I have had my unit in a different time zone, so I was quite surprised.

Any thoughts of why that happened?

Is that normal?

When I go to Japan or Europe, will I still get my home time, unless I re-initialize? (I did not do that after loading firmware.)

The GPS unit is taking GMT time and changing it to the time zone you have set. It does not pay attention to what zone you are physically in only the one you set. icon_smile.gif
