Billpear
Has anyone ever added memory to a legend? Does it allow for more map storage? Quote Link to comment
+MaxEntropy
You can't add memory to any etrex units. They don't have a slot for it. A few months ago, they did upgrade the firmware to up the waypoint storage to 1000 from 500. Sure, 500 seems like a lot that is until you start using EasyGPS and Pocket Queries, then it's barely minimum. The upgrade is free from Garmin's web site. +SpongeRob
With the cost of the legend and the vista dropping fast, why not just upgrade? -- SpongeRob rwmech@keenpeople.com www.keenpeople.com WPWU826 Geocaching Stats Quote Link to comment
+GOT GPS?
In the Legend, you would carefully desolder the chip for the 8 megs of mapping, and put in a 128 meg chip in it's place. A Hack team of technicians can probably do it. They would have to Rewrite the firmware too. Also if you Double or quadrupple the memory, it will slow the map drawing way down, so you would have to increase the speed of the proccessor chip too. ---------------------------------------------------------- Pictures of the insides of my Old GPS V My Home Page about what is GPS Strange Quote Link to comment
