Bob and Joe
Is there a way to use this unit to measure in feet instead of mileage? I need to use this unit as a measuring device and need to have it more accurate than the mileage scale. Quote Link to comment
+ThisWayOut
Unfortunately, I know of no way to change the SporTrak to display all distances in feet. The best suggestion I can offer is to multiply 528 (1/10 mile) by the milage displayed to do the conversion. That will get you within 5.28 feet accuracy. You really can't expect better accuracy then that from a recreational GPSr anyway. Hope this helps. If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there. Quote Link to comment
4x4van
Once you get to within, I think it's 500' of your destination, the SporTrak Pro automatically switches to feet. Not sure on the basic SporTrak. But as for using it for measuring distances, you'll never get that accurate anyway, what with EPE (estimated position accuracy). Quote Link to comment
+ThisWayOut
After reading another thread on a similar subject, I realized what a BoneHead I am. 1/100 of a mile is actually 52.8 feet, not 5.28. Sorry about that. If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there. Quote Link to comment
