UncleB
Hey people I'm going to buy my first handheld GPS and am wondering if anyone can suggest a good one ifor around $200-$250. I'll be using it for GeoCaching of course! I was looking into the Etrex Legend - so far I think it's my best bet, but, I wantd to get some feedback. Quote Link to comment
+DD214
I picked up a Magellan Meridian Gold for $240, and I've been 100% pleased with it so far. The reasons I went with the Meridian instead of the Etrex were the antenna (better for thick forest) and the expandable memory card (up to 128Mb right now). Of course the Garmins are good as well. It really comes down to personal preference. Quote Link to comment
+CharlieP
You can get a Garmin GPS 76 for about $220 and its quad antenna would probably get better reception under trees than the Legend. But then I noticed you are in NM, so that is probably not a big problem for you. FWIW, CharlieP Quote Link to comment

Night Tracker
Uncle B, Check out Garmins Rino 120 its based on their Legend but with a built in GMRS radio for the same price as the Legend it will also have a better quad helix ant..Just an idea.. Quote Link to comment
+Jeepmadman
i bought a magellan meridian and love it 13 sought 13 found Quote Link to comment
+phantom4099
The rino's appear to have a even smaller screen than the etrex. This may be fine if you only use it outdoors (and you have good eyesight) and not on the road. Wyatt W.
