LeeMn Posted May 29, 2002 Share Posted May 29, 2002 Just got my first GPS and Mapsource Roads and Rec CD. Went to load a map to my Legend and got a warning that the factory installed map would be lost. Out of fear I cancelled the upload. Is this correct? Is there anyway of restoring the base map that it came with if I do load a map section from the CD to the hand unit? I travel a bit and don't want to worry about loading every map section I could use before I go anywhere. Thanks for the help, A Newbie Quote Link to comment

+apersson850 Posted May 29, 2002 Share Posted May 29, 2002 It doesn't attempt to remove the base map. It will remove the file with "Points of Interest" that's preloaded in your unit from the factory. You can reinstall that file, by downloading a package from Garmin's webpage, so just go along. Anders Quote Link to comment
