Ranger
Help! I was going to load coordinates into my GPS for tomorrow but it won't turn on. The troubleshooting guide say to make sure the batteries are new and inserted correctly. Yes and yes they are new and inserted correctly. I even tried it with the "CLA" but no luck. Any ideas what it could be other than dropped too many times? Quote Link to comment
+phantom4099
Contrast set too low (check to see if backlight comes on). This is a big guess. Are the batteries making contact? you may want to try readjusting the springs. wyatt W. The probability of someone watching you is directly proportional to the stupidity of your actions. +PATHer
Try giving their Tech Support a call and describing the problem. I just had a problem with my Tracker and they gave me two options - fix it and told me upfront what it would cost or trade it in on a new model with a generous allowance. If it is something easy, they will tell you. If not, you will at least have some options to get a functioning unit again. The number is: 800 707 9971 Hope this helps. Quote Link to comment
SergZak
Try cleaning the battery contacts/springs in the battery compartment. I once had an instance on my 315 where after installing brand new out-of-the-package batteries, the unit would shut down after a minute due to a low battery situation. I took a look at the contacts after being stumped for a while and sure enough, they were filthy. Give it a try since it certainly can't hurt. Serg Quote Link to comment
