JaegerWolf
Is there anyway to turn up volume on meridian gold gps. I cannot hear high pitched sounds that well. With my gps 45 I could hear the beeps great, but barely can hear my merigold. Quote Link to comment
Northern-Lights
Hello....I'm thinking of either a Megellan sportrac pro or a Meridean Gold.......I also have a Garmin 45 and was wondering if you could give a side-by-side comparison of how well the 45 holds a lock under heavy cover compared to the Gold.....thanks.......Also your opinions on the gold would be appreciated. JaegerWolf
You can't even compare the two units. The meridian gold is fantastic under a tree canopy, with the 3.12 firmware anyway, and the garmin gps 45 was terrible. I bought the garmin gps 45 in case I ever got turned around while hunting. Thing is, it sucked recieving satellites in dense tree cover. However, the main reason for this is that a magellan meridian gold is a 12 channel parellel( not sure thats spelled right) channel receiver. The gold can track as much as 12 satellites simultaneously, where the gps 45 has to track one at a time, big difference. The gold is a great unit, if you are considering a new unit, I would get one. If you have any questions about them, let me know what you need to know. Quote Link to comment
JaegerWolf
p.s., I like the meridian gold over the sport track because its more expandable. Merigold can hold 128 mb memory. Quote Link to comment
JaegerWolf
anyone with input on volume? Quote Link to comment
peter
AFAIK no adjustment is possible without going inside the unit and changing the speaker or other components. I also noticed the relatively low volume when comparing my eMap to a Meridian Gold and Platinum in a local store. Quote Link to comment
+embra
Yeah, I also don't think there's any volume adjustment. Don't get even - get odd Quote Link to comment
JaegerWolf
Ok guys, thanks for responding Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
There is no user-controllable volume setting. Unfortunately, the very characteristics that make our GPSes waterproof make it hard to get loud beeps out of them. Quote Link to comment
