iweb
I just bought an SD chip reader, loaded the software and tried to download from GPS and it does not read the waypoints that I have on the chip, it tries to read the serial cable that is not connected. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to somehow save the info on my hard drive and then open? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+TotemLake
You can't read the waypoints to/from the reader. Only from the GPS. There is some translation that happens at the GPS level that makes it work. The reader is good for loading maps quickly versus through the serial port to the GPS. Cheers! TL Quote Link to comment
robertlipe
Since we're not really sure what kind of GPS is involved, what "the software" is, or how the waypoints got on that chip, I suspect the number of quality answers is going to be low. But since TotemLake has answered other Magellan Meridian questions, let me clarify that GPSBabel definitely CAN write waypoints directly to the SD card for Meridian in a format that it can use. Magellan's Mapsend can not. Quote Link to comment
