+coggins Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) I'd like to see a better PC cable format than serial for the eTrex series. A USB or firewire or even a IR would help for those of us who don't have serial ports on our laptops. I've emailed them, and I got the feeling that a mass request would prompt better development or interfaces. The Price of Freedom is Vigilance Looks like you got you wish with that USB cable dream. +chrobak_and_chrust Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 We are basically satisfied with our two Etrexes (the old yellow - still works fine) and Vista HCx. The problem is that after upgrading my PC to WIN7 64 bit the PC does not recognized the GPSs. Garmin tried to help me (reinstalling the drivers) but nothing worked. I have to use the laptop with WIN7 32bit to transfer the caches/POIs. For the old yellow Etrex I use the USB/Serial adapter, it works fine. We also have the Nuvi 1390, this unit connects to both computers without problems. Quote
