Best online price for an eTrex Legend

Hello all,

 

I am trying to find the best online price for an eTrex Legend that I would like to purchase for some colleagues in the UK (I am from Canada).

 

I have looked at GPS Warehouse and at expansys. I have also seen a reference to maplins on this forum but can't seem to find a link.

 

The best price I can find is £224 (incl. VAT). Is there a better source out there? The price of this same unit here in Canada is about £139, but it comes with the North American basemap, not the European one (and you can't get them preloaded with the European basemap here in North America). Another option would be to buy the North America unit and then buy the European Mapsource CD as an add-on - I could still do this for under £200 - what functionality would I be giving up by doing this?

Another place to try is Dabs Direct for UK.

 

I would possibly go th US route if you work out how much tax you will pay, but I believe if it was second hand there would be no tax!!

 

I don't think you will giving up any function, I don't when I use my units in the states

Am I reading the wrong site? GPS Warehouse's price on the Leg End that the original poster is after is £224.95
