Creating Adventure Lab in another country

I live in Canada and spend  2 months in Mexico.  I can see why non residents are discouraged from creating  traditional geocaches (without a dedicated local resident looking after it).   I was wondering about Adventure Labs.

The AL Guidelines say nothing about how far from home you can place it and there's no review process for them. The only thing is you also don't get notifications of people doing it and there's no way for someone to log an NM (or even a DNF) if there's a problem so you'll be effectively flying blind.
