I am having an issue where if I merge GPX files in watcher, ExpertGPS (nor EasyGPS) reads them, but does not display any information, thus I can't download them to the GPS.

What would be a very useful feature of Watcher is if it could download waypoints to a GPS directly. I know - a large amount of work, but it would still be nice. icon_biggrin.gif

BTW, I wanted to thank ClayJar for all the work that's been done on Watcher, it's turning out to be a really good piece of software.

I had a similar problem. There was a character that it couldn't read. You may need to update to the latest version of EasyGPS. Click here to get to the dowload page of the latest release. You can also use EasyMPS to convert the GPX file to an MPS file if you have a Garmin and the Mapsource software.

That's a bug that Dan (Mr. Easy/ExpertGPS) has told me will be fixed soon (but it isn't fixed yet). In the meantime, you can get around it very easily. Just open the Watcher-exported GPX file in WordPad and replace all "/>" with " />" (to add the space).

There is some work being done to allow Watcher to integrate more closely with GPSBabel. Once that's done, all the work the GPSBabel people have done will be able to benefit Watcher users directly. (It's a good bit of work to connect the two with a simple but full-featured user interface, but thanks to GPSBabel, it's not like I have to write all the communication stuff, which would be rather more difficult.)

I'm glad that Watcher is making itself useful. Watcher 0.1.31 is almost ready. We're just debugging it and waiting for Jeremy to reply about the very small XSD update that it needs for the intelligent merge code.
