Hotlinking image from OneDrive isn't allowed

Hi,

I'm trying to add an image on cache page from my OneDrive account, but it doesn't allow me because it's hosted on a third-party website. I know of the changes made back in September 2020, but OneDrive is on the list of approved hosting services and should be allowed. The current domainname for my image is sn3301files.storage.live.com

Please have a look into why OneDrive isn't accepted on the webpage

How have you insert the link in your Listing?
In the html source like this with an img tag ?
<img src=" image link">
and which image link do you use? (see https://www.mail-signatures.com/articles/direct-link-to-hosted-image/)

Yes it is. The problem isn't the tag or the link, but that geocaching.com doesn't even let you save the page if you hotlink to a third party site. OneDrive is allowed though and should work.

Yes, it works on your listing because the server is different for you. My OneDrive storage is on sn3301files.storage.live.com and yours is on public.am.files.1drv.com.

Apparently, 1drv.com is allowed, but not storage.live.com

I have tried to add from this forum

https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=174485

this embedded and public link with the same domain as yours from Onedrive in my own listing

<img border="0" src="https://sn3301files.storage.live.com/y4mD3WVXgk2N2Aaj25p_8-krqfCom7CSjgHKbmHj_86ghqL6O8WF5vNc-bDp4Ug-uv4BOqZsCvmE9VxGG4c-lp3JkIowrnINAthmGPQPhequkLMylNAG5s2fORXDhhMi1L5IcyqSgk9X_AFbERsojPZ6IS7QKsDzE8_-C2m4o1y01dTdF9lfmZpmjthNaL8iRAr" />

And I get this error message from the gc webseite

Remove all images hosted on a third-party website to save changes. Tip: Upload images directly to the cache page with the user-friendly editor.

So you are right, but

But when you put the above link with sn3301files...  in the browser then a download starts with a png file.
You when look at  the response header from the browser request there is an other link in the response

1.) when you put this URL in your browser the picture is shown by the browser and not donwloaded !
2.) I have embedded  that linkin my listing and it works

Conclusions
I don't know wether this is really a bug on gc website,

Maybe the problem is, that your link is a shareable  link (dowlnoad) and not an embedded link (rendered in the client)
Links which starts directly a donwload are forebidden , as far I know.

Has you tried to create an embedded link with  OneDrive as described in my linked article?

It is the link given to me when selecting embed from OneDrive, the same way that is explained in the article you linked to.

I gave up and moved my images to Google so for me there isn’t a problem. I’d prefer if OneDrive works though as it is much easier
