  1. Hoping this will be fixed soon too. When planning my vacation, I use cachetur.no with the companion user-script. While GCHQ doesn't have anything to do with that script, the error also breaks the script which makes my planning much more difficult. Crossing my fingers that the problem will be resolved quickly
  2. There's still an issue when searching for caches with the filter "Hidden by". If the list of caches returned is bigger than what is shown on the page, the caches loaded when you click on the "Load more" button has nothing to do with the initial filter.
  3. It is the link given to me when selecting embed from OneDrive, the same way that is explained in the article you linked to. I gave up and moved my images to Google so for me there isn’t a problem. I’d prefer if OneDrive works though as it is much easier
  4. Yes, it works on your listing because the server is different for you. My OneDrive storage is on sn3301files.storage.live.com and yours is on public.am.files.1drv.com. Apparently, 1drv.com is allowed, but not storage.live.com
  5. Yes it is. The problem isn't the tag or the link, but that geocaching.com doesn't even let you save the page if you hotlink to a third party site. OneDrive is allowed though and should work.
  6. Hi, I'm trying to add an image on cache page from my OneDrive account, but it doesn't allow me because it's hosted on a third-party website. I know of the changes made back in September 2020, but OneDrive is on the list of approved hosting services and should be allowed. The current domainname for my image is sn3301files.storage.live.com Please have a look into why OneDrive isn't accepted on the webpage
  7. I had almost forgotten that it used to work that way. Thanks for the workaround. Works great
  8. Anybody else that have problems with this script changing links to images in found logs on the cache page? After the actual image it adds &pop=and a base64 encoded string containing the waypoints for the cache. This only happens when the cachepage contains more than one waypoint. With one waypoint, everything is OK Example of link on the cache page https://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/large/b3a348db-b782-43e4-bf5f-5cdcb1388a21.jpg&pop=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 Example of what the base64 string decodes to {"primary":[{"lat":59.36797,"lng":11.24368,"type":2,"name":"Bøkollen","isUserDefined":false,"oldLatLngDisplay":"N 59° 22.078' E 011° 14.621'"}],"additional":[{"lat":59.3721,"lng":11.23783,"type":217,"name":"Dueholveien (Parking Area)","pf":"P0"},{"lat":59.37238,"lng":11.23902,"type":221,"name":"Veien mot Bøkollen (Trailhead)","pf":"T0"}]}
  9. Still the same here. Tried different browsers on different computers and no user scripts active.
  10. If a basic member opens the profile page of another user and goes to the Geocache section, the link "All geocache finds" is gone. For a premium member it is still there.
  11. I was just sending some earthcache answers and the CO must be going nuts from all the alerts he will get from me because of this bug. Shift+enter doesn't work. Unchecking "press enter to send" doesn't help either Please fix this.
  12. Any updates to this? It's still happening here (Latest Firefox, but also older versions). At the moment I have to manually change the URL to meet my requirements. My localization is Norwegian and changing to English language fixes to the problem
  13. It's not much used, but from time to time I see logs upvoted for 'good story' or 'helpful'. I upvote logs with helpful information and good stories myself when I come across them, but usually forget to do it on logs for my own caches as I read those logs directly from the email notification. I never use the feature to order logs by most helpful or best stories because there aren't many logs being upvoted. As Brendan714 says, it always brings a smile to my face when I revisit some of my old logs and I see that some has upvoted my log. It's nice to know there are some that appreciate my logs.
  14. While I can understand that that you don't want geocaching to get to close to social media, this has nothing to do with social media. If you want to, you can have a look at the Wikipedia article about metadata tags: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag_(metadata)
  15. Why? Upvoting/downvoting tags works great at other sites. Remember that I am talking about metadata. Ideally this should be excluded from any statistical use, but I don't see how that can be prevented
  16. True, that is a potensial problem (dadgum statistics). It can however be made less of a problem by upvoting/downvoting the tags. Several of the sites i use sets a base value for a tag to a number. Users can then upvote/downvote the tag and if that value falls to zero the tag is removed.
  17. I don't see why it's not feasible for this site. Basically, add a tag field to the database entry for the geocache and you're done. Using tags / metadata for searching has nothing to do with social media. It's used by many other services, like news sites, webstores (like Steam), EXIF-information in pictures, to categorize a personal library of images. Basically for all kinds of databases. I don't see any difference between those examples and this site
  18. Adding a 'Waterfall' tag to your Chasing Waterfalls series would add searchability. Sure, I can search for titles including Waterfall, but not all caches related to waterfalls have that word in the title. That's where tags / metadata can help. Regarding your example with GC62WZJ, I don't see why a long list of tags is a problem. It's not something you are supposed to read. It's metadata to help you search. It can be hidden away as a collapsable list. There are of course some possible problems with a tag system as well. First there is the language problem where you can have two words for the same thing: Waterfall / foss (The Norwegian translation of Waterfall), but also other synonyms or even spelling errors. There is also a possibility that mystery creators would use such a tag system to hide the coordinates so that the tags are no longer representative. And as with the attribute system, some people could add a tag to boost statistics. In my opinion, tags would be very helpful for finding the caches I really want to visit.
  19. Sure, there are some, but most are not maintained and all rely on the owner of the list having discovered the cache listing. With a tag system the categorisation is moved from a single user list to the cache owner, the person most qualified to categorise it correctly. The important thing is to let the tags be user defined as the current set of attributes are much to limited for searching. There is also a possibility to allow all users the option to add tags to a cache. (Can be misused in numerous ways though)
  20. Sorry, but that doesn't help at all since there are almost no waymarks in Scandinavia.
  21. When planning holidays and different trips, I try to find geocaches that show interesting places around different themes. Like historic sites from WW2, caves, waterfalls etc. As it is now, those geocaches can be hard to find when planning a trip. The attributes aren't really helpful because of the limited attributes available and neither is search for name. What I would like to see is a feature where COs can tag their caches with custom, not predefined as that would be to limited, tags describing the theme of the cache. That way it's possible to search for caches with different themes.
  22. True, but if you want to copy the corrected coordinates there are no way to do that now. It's not possible to highlight the coordinates any longer. Works in Chrome and Edge, but not Firefox. Tried in Firefox 71 64 Bit on Windows 10. Both with and without all my add-ons
  23. How does changing a link from plaintext to a JS link with the original target base64 encoded make things more secure? With plaintext I can easily see what site a link will send me to before I click on it. Not so much with this change. And JS links in general are just a very bad idea when thinking about usability
  24. Firefox v62 64 bit with no add-ons enabled on Windows 10 Pro build 17134.228 There's also some strange things happening with the Personal Cache Notes field on the cache page. Previously I could click anywhere in the field to edit it, but now I have to click on the text already there to open the edit box
