Garmin 650. Field notes will not upload.

Geocaching site will no longer upload my field notes!

I am using a Garmin 650 but until today I had no problem loading my notes.  

Is anyone else having this problem?

There MAY be something amiss in the geocache_visits.txt file... well, not necessarily amiss, just something that gc.com can't deal with.

 

As an example, I've had uploads explode if I included a ' character anywhere in my field notes.  That screws up the parsing by the gc.com utility that grabs the individual logs from the file.

Unless you delete the geocache_visits.txt file, any error like that will remain, making future uploads equally problematic.

 

Give that a try first.

I should add that if you REALLY need the information from those notes to do your logs before you delete the file, you can open that file with any old text editor as well.  It's more or less human readable.

I finally got it to load after several tries.  I did not change anything or the way I loaded the .txt file. 

It seems to work off & on for some reason...

 

TKS for the information, I will try it the next time the file won't load.
