pedersoj
I'm dropping into PDX in two weeks to do some weekend camping with a fried from Corvalitino. I'm looking for some good suggestions of caches in the PDX area that will put us in some nice camping spots, short day hikes, etc. Quote Link to comment
+oregone
Start somewhere warm(er) than the mountains and the coast. You can get a yurt if you begin your trek in oregone country. all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Quote Link to comment
+oregone
No visit to portland is complete without a trip to the gorge. This one seems to be relatively uncrowded compared to nearby Multnomah falls. Also, you might be able to see evidence of a recent small forest fire. all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Quote Link to comment
+Nurse Dave
Blownads is not a long one, but gives you a great view of the city. The Lacamas Park series is just across the river in Washington and can give you hours of walking depending on how long it takes to find the right trails. No camping though. ---I will stand out, I am a raven in the snow. Quote Link to comment
+oregone
If you end up at the coast (and you probably should, being from the MidWest), this one is a good one: 5 miles round trip with great views (assuming it's not too foggy, raining, etc). It's in a park with tons of camping. I'm not sure if they have yurts, but they have a few cabins. It's also near a few other quality caches. all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Quote Link to comment
+chubby forest monkey
If you want to avoid the campground scene and don't need to car-camp, you camp right on the beach at BayOcean Quote Link to comment
