Seth!
Hey gang, my family and I are taking a trip from Kirkland, WA to Durango, CO. (No, we aren't firefighters.) I'd like to hit a few geocaches along the way. Can you tell me of some that would be very close to our route and relatively quick to do? We'll be traveling along these Highways: I-90 to I-82 to I-84... We'll return the same way. Here is a partial map. Any ideas are appreciated! Thanks, Seth! Quote Link to comment
EraSeek
You might look at this Ghost Bridge I can E-Mail you a nudge to shorten up your search time. Also this one. Short drive off your path, short walk, great spot, just bring a stick and look out for snakes Snake Den [This message was edited by EraSeek on June 27, 2002 at 10:19 PM.] [This message was edited by EraSeek on June 27, 2002 at 10:20 PM.] Quote Link to comment
pdxmarathonman
at a nice bridge southbound just before you reach Yakima. A quick spot to get out and stretch and let the little ones try out their GPS skills. It's a super easy cache. The kind all major rest stops need. IMO Crash-N-Burn Quote Link to comment
EraSeek
Oops, I guess you won't go by "Snake Den" but if you take the river canyon road to Yakima the Canyon Crest cache is well worth it, though it may take you about an hour to hike up and back down. Neat place, great view. Quote Link to comment
Quantum Mechanic
I don't know of any caches around Durango, but you really need to take the train from Durango to Silverton. Beautiful ride. Right now it is shut down due to the fires, but it should be running again within a week or so. Stop into the Butterfly store in Silverton and say hi to my mother-in-law Carol and my Daughter Mikey. Have fun! Quote Link to comment
Seth!
Yeah, we have reservations for the train in a few days. I hope to shout that it is running this week because I've wanted to ride that for as long as I can remember. I will be REALLY disappointed if I cannot. And it's not looking good. But if we get near the store, I'll sure say howdy. Seth! Quote Link to comment
