+Bubba Cache
I am visting DC in May and will be staying in Bethesda (hope I spelled that right). What are some good caches (not virtual ones) that I can visit and leave some travel bugs from Alabama in? Thanks God bless you and your family, Bubba Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
It's awesome to see a post like this: fresh TBs coming to our area! Wheeee! Usually, I see a post about people asking for TBs because they are going to a certain location and they want TBs mailed to them or whatever. I am in a little shock that no one has yet responded. I'd help you if I could but I have not yet had the pleasure of caching in DC. Sorry! You must be present to win. Quote Link to comment
+Perfect Tommy
The following threads should be of some help to you. Markwell #1 Markwell #2 Markwell #3 Hope this helps. I used to be disgusted, now I try to be amused. Quote Link to comment
Nascat
We're also visiting D.C. in May, the 20th-23rd, we are staying in Falls Church VA & hope to do some light cache hunting between site seeing. Take Care, Michael Quote Link to comment
engel-cox
Bubba.. DC has always been a challenge since most of the non-residential land is Federal, so no caches allowed. However, in the last few months, there has been a concerted effort to get a few placed within DC. The big question is, will you have a car or be on Metro? For a nice one, check out "DC: The Disenfranchised Colony," http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=42739 But there are 4 or 5 non-virtual ones to choose from. Just visit the DC section of the site. Enjoy your visit! We live here and love it. Quote Link to comment
+Bubba Cache
We will be using the metro. Staying at the Hyatt in Bethesda. Wife has a conference. Any nearte metro would be great. God bless you and your family, Bubba Quote Link to comment
engel-cox
There are a couple caches that are Metro-able if you're willing to walk (no guarantees though--I walk a lot, so sometimes people question my idea of walking distance!). The weather should be lovely and you'll see some beautiful flowers, etc, while walking. So, try the following: DC: The Disenfranchised Colony http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=42739 Neglect http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=47272 Secret Garden http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=46857 University Forest http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=53294 As a non-caching activity, I always recommend a vist to the Capitol to watch Congress in action. All my visitors have had amazing experiences during their Capitol visits. Have fun! immediacy: thoughts on books, games, music, life http://www.engel-cox.org/ Quote Link to comment
