+artemisworks
Hello everyone, I am building and testing a Wherigo cartridge that uses Timers, particularly a Countdown timer. The player can trigger the timer to start when they are in a particular zone. If they are still in that zone when the countdown timer finishes, they will see Message A. If they have left the zone when the timer ends, then they will see Message B. I have tested this successfully with the Garmin Oregon 200. However, with the standard Wherigo app on the iPhone, I find that if I save the cartridge any time after the timer has started AND finished, then when I resume the cartridge gameplay, it will immediately trigger the countdown timer event and end, and give me Message B. It suggests to me that the Wherigo app does not record the state of the Timer correctly, and just assumes that the Timer has started and triggers it as soon as the cartridge is resumed. Has any other Wherigo programmer encountered this problem and since it appears to be an issue with the Wherigo app for the iPhone, can we hope for it to be fixed at some point??? I imagine that some of the misgivings people have about doing (or coding) Wherigo cartridges stem from all the glitches and bugs that occur with them because of the lack of support Thanks in advance for any insights, Artemisworks Quote Link to comment
+jonny65
The iPhone player has the most issues of all players. I often have to make workarounds only for these player. Hoping that finally the WF.Player comes out. But what do you have wrote sounds very curious. The timer has finished, then you save the game, restore and the timer seems to run again ?? If it is so, explicit stop the timer on the resume event of the cartridge. Quote Link to comment
