Scrooge_fan
The Geocaching app on my iPhone works great for locating and finding caches whose correct coordinates are published. But on puzzle apps and on multi-caches you have to find/calculate the coordinates. Does any know if there is there a way to enter the coordinates into the Geocaching app so it can lead you to the cache? Does the Geosphere App do this? Do need a separate GPS for this purpose? My Garmin (the yellow one I paid $100 for) has quit working. I don't want to buy a new one if I can use my iPhone. I would appreciate any feedback. Quote Link to comment
IchGlaubsNicht
using the geocaching app? no problem then: just hit 'goto geocache', tap on the three dots in the upper right corner + 'add waypoint' (crude translation from German here, but I think you get the picture) You should now be able to enter the calculated coordinates directly. All the best mr Quote Link to comment

All the best mr Thanks for your quick response. I'm afraid you overestimate my skills, 'cause I don't get the picture yet. When I bring the puzzle cache up on my phone I do see the three dots upper right. When I tap on it I get a list of options: Save to Offline List, Post a field note, Personal Geocache Note, Refresh Geocache data, Find Geocaches near this one, View on Geocaching.com, and view on External Map. I can't find the Add Waypoint option. An I missing something, or is it possible I don't have the latest addition of the Geocaching App. How would I know that? Quote Link to comment

+geodarts
Does any know if there is there a way to enter the coordinates into the Geocaching app so it can lead you to the cache? Does the Geosphere App do this? Others have pointed out how to add a waypoint in the Groundspeak app. I like the way that geosphere handles this. Although Geosphere has a number of ways to add waypoints or caches to the app, when I solve a puzzle I edit the location so that the cache shows the correct final coordinates. I rarely solve puzzles and it may take awhile to get to the cache -- I solved some several years ago and have not yet found the cache. So I also move the solved puzzle into a separate list (group) just to keep track of them. The group is displayed along with other groups of caches that I maintain, but it can be updated from time to time to make sure that the caches I solved are still active. Geosphere retains the final coordinates, although if need be, it is easy to revert back to the published location. Edited July 29, 2014 by geodarts Quote Link to comment
