BookwormGoesGeo Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 In caches that are big enough, I want to start leaving a book with a custom bookmark that encourages the finder to read it and then pay it forward. The front of the bookmark would have a "Congratulations" and recommendations for where to donate the book after the finder is done with it. The back would have lines for people to sign as they read. I want to be a librarian and work as a literacy tutor, so I think it's very fitting for me. I can often find cheap books at thrift stores, garage sales, etc. (I recently found classics such as Black Beauty and Peter Pan in the Dollar Spot at Target) that I can buy very inexpensively. I'd double wrap them in gallon Ziploc bags to keep them from getting damaged and/or wet. What do you think of this as a signature item? Quote
Breaktrack Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I use items from the gift shop of the Battleship Texas BB-35. It's what I started with back in 2000, and I've used them ever since. Pencils, pens, keychains, hats, t-shirts, wristbands, you name it. Mac Quote
TheFrontRanger Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 In the caches that I hide, I include some miniature dice beads. Quote
floridapenguin Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 My signature item is a penguin eraser and a business card I am building a collection of army men and rubber dinosaurs and lizards. Quote
GELOS Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) Our signature item is paracord keyrings we tie and put GI issue P38 can openers on them. I find it relaxing to make and can tie up a couple dozen while watching a movie at night. It works out to about $0.60 a piece when I buy in bulk. Edited March 12, 2015 by GELOS Quote

geordiell Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Love the keyrings but would the tin opener be "dangerous" Dont get me wrong I think its brilliant but if a child was to grab ahold of one of these he/she could nick their finger! geordiell Quote
